PI Macdonald & Son has recently put another Case CX85DSR in to the fleet. After 3 years of trouble free service since the first machine was sold to them a third CX85D has been purchased.
This machine has been tailored specifically for their type of work with factory 2 way hammer pipework and low flow pipework allowing maximum flow of 146 litres per minute to power the Autoguide high torque augers used by PI Macdonald. The system can also be used with standard flow of 70 litres a minute to power a hydraulic breaker or other attachments with a lower flow requirement, all controlled through the 7″ on board Case monitor. Fitted with 600mm track pads to lower ground pressure this is certainly some machine when the going gets tough !!.
Owner Ian Macdonald commented we have 2 other CX85D that have been converted in the uk to give extra flow requirements that work well, however the factory designed fitted system that comes from Japan is without doubt the best, the extra flow drives the augers and anchors in to the ground no problem with plenty of power in reserve. From the operators point of view its also easy to control from the Case onboard monitor just a press of a button give maximum or lower flow. The machines are super reliable with no issues in the last 3 years since we purchased the first unit.
